Information Day, ICT Policy Support Programme - "Digital Libraries"

APRE segnala una giornata informativa organizzata dalla Commissione Europea sul Tema Digital Libraries, del Pogramma ICT Policy Support.

Following the end of the eContentplus programme, measures to make digital content in Europe more accessible, usable and exploitable will be continued in 2009 under the Information and Communication Technologies Policy Support Programme ("ICT PSP"), one of the three specific programmes implemented through the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (2007-2013) ("CIP").

Three of the eight themes addressed in the ICT PSP 2009 work programme (ICT PSP Call 3) relate to digital content: these are Digital Libraries, Multilingual Web and Public Sector Information.

The Digital Content and Cognitive Systems Directorate of the Information Society and Media Directorate-General is organising a dedicated Information Day for the theme of Digital Libraries in Luxembourg on 17 February 2009.

EUR 25 million will be available for funding projects under the following objectives: services, aggregating or digitising content for Europeana, open access to scientific content and use of cultural heritage material for education.
