<Project Title: ASSET: ADVANCED STRATEGIES FOR SMEs IN MANUFACTURING SECTOR >

<Description: Most of the European manufacturing SMEs do not have the capability to adapt to the continuous changes of the global economy. On one hand, they have neither resources nor capability and experience to evolve with this dynamic environment, and on the other hand, they do not have the global visibility and strategy.

For that reason, the ASSET project will develop and validate solutions for solving the operational support of enterprises and enterprise networks making use of tools based on advanced architectures, collaboration and modelling.

The aim of the project is to support SMEs and SME networks, facilitating regional trade growth and European visibility and competitiveness.

The results of the project are totally flexible allowing to develop new models and to use these
new developed models.

Then, the project will provide the following results:

- Methodology for analysis and reengineering of business processes and the evaluation of the use of several technologies (such as Information and Communication Technologies) for problems identification and area improvements.

- To model the operational support of enterprises and enterprise networks providing innovative solutions for design these models (Model Driven Engineering).

- To develop a library of models for business processes and collaborative business processes that will be common for SME and based on the best practices.

- To incorporate run-time solutions to support SME operations in compliance with the modelling strategies, including the supply chain management.
