Master e Summer School in Human Development and Food Security

1. Master Course in Human Development and Food Security 2008/2009
The Master in Human Development and Food Security, University of Roma Tre,
is pleased to inform you that the 2008-2009 edition of the Master Course
is now open for registration. Again, English will be the working language
for the courses, teaching materials and all other activities.

The Master will continue to have duration of 12 months, from November 2008
to October 2009 (9 months of lectures and 3 months devoted to internship
or the preparation of a final dissertation).
The Master is mainly built around the acquisition of tools enabling
graduates to contribute to fighting hunger and poverty. Hence the master
provides strong training in statistics, an up-to-date training in Food
Security and Human development in addition to more general courses in
Development Economics and Rural Development.

All relevant information regarding the Master (programme, fees, calendar,
application deadlines, and students holding a foreign degree) is being
sent in a separate email containing the Master Call 2008/2009.

Two scholarships covering the Master's fees will be granted to applicants
with outstanding records and who wish to serve as classroom assistants.
Candidates interested by these scholarships should complete the
application form provided for the pre-enrolment procedure.

2. Summer School in Human Development and Food Security 2008
The Faculty of Economics (Federico Caffč) of the University of Roma Tre,
within the framework of its Master's programme in Human Development and
Food Security offers a Summer School in Human Development and Food
Security. The Summer School will take place in Rome, at the University of
Roma Tre, from June 23rd to June 28th 2008.

The Summer School in Human Development and Food Security offers a complete
overview of the main concepts, definitions and tools required to better
understand the problematic of human development and food security and also
the actions undertaken by international and national actors for fighting
hunger and poverty.

The Summer School is conceived for and open to young professionals
including those working in the field, researchers and Ph. D. students.

All relevant information concerning the Summer School (programme, fees,

containing the Summer School Call 2008.
