participation procedures>

We would like to collaborate with an international consortium of
research performers and civil society organisations seeking to serve
particular groups (e.g. looked after or refugee children), or
different ages (teenagers, older children, young children).
Brief abstract of proposal idea:
Media outlets, political leaders, and children's advocates often
encourage the public to view youth as investments in tomorrow, but the
question is in what extend youth are contributing to the public good
and have a voice in their communities. The aim of this project will be
to stimulate active engagement with ideas about why and how to involve
children and young people in democratic participation procedures. To
provoke such thinking reflection reports and guides will help
organisations, seeking to serve children and young people, to develop
new ways of working. We will also suggest activities that can be used
to encourage practice development and learning.
