<Description: HEALTHGRAIN is an Integrated Project (IP) in the Sixth
Framework programme of the European Community active in years
2005-2010. It is a multidisciplinary, trans-sectorial project
involving already 43 partners from 15 countries. It aims to improve
well-being of consumers and to reduce the risk of diseases related to
metabolic syndrome in Europe by increasing the intake of protective
compounds of whole grains or their fractions. The aim is to produce
health promoting and safe cereal foods and ingredients which are
attractive to consumers.

<Partner Sought: HEALTHGRAIN is launching a competitive call during
6th July-19th September 2007 to incorporate new SME partners to carry
out tasks in the following research fields:
1) Development of analytical tools for selecting lines enriched in
bioactive components in cereal breeding and
2) Development and demonstration of milling technologies and
bioprocessing for ingredient manufacture.
