Signori,
Ho il piacere di confermare che il progetto IMI sull'asma grave č stato selezionato dalla EU per il finanziamento. Da ieri č ufficiale.
Le Universitą di Catania e l'Universitą Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (ROMA) sono le uniche rappresentanze accademiche italiane all'interno di questo ambizioso progetto della durata di 5 anni per un costo stimato di 25 milioni di euro.

Dear colleagues and friends,
Congratulations to all of you!!
We are very pleased to send you the enclosed message from IMI in Brussels with the confirmation that U-BIOPRED has been selected for funding! The reviewers made a few recommendations which are mostly clarifications andadditional detail, i.e. recruitment criteria. We have to implement this recommendations prior to the signing of the grant agreement. The proposal will become annex 1 of the legal Grant Agreement. IMI gives some timelines for this, which leads us to expect that a starting date of U-BIOPRED will be later than we had planned.
This outcome is flabbergasting. We all worked so hard for it during the past two (!) years, and it is almost surrealistic now we actually are receiving the grant. I am sure this success is the result of our collaborative spirit between all of us from so many different backgrounds.
This is the main purpose of this whole initiative, and therefore let us celebrate this first and most vital deliverable!
Please enjoy the news. I like to thank you so much for your creative ideas, your hard work, your commitment and most of all your enthusiasm within our consortium. This is not the end, but the beginning of a great journey.
